Cocker Spaniels
Working cockers, particularly those from trialling lines, are generally a little smaller, lighter framed and carry less coat than the show bred type. These dogs have been bred for sound temperament and health, intelligence, speed and biddability above any external features. At the end of the day they have to be capable of being trained and performing the job for which the breed was intended (hunting, flushing and retrieving game).
My cockers are extremely good natured and friendly dogs, they mix well with the collies here and other dogs we meet out and about and are very friendly (probably a bit TOO friendly!) with everyone they meet. They are a joy to live with and train.
